Terms of Use

1. Agreement

By creating an account, entering as a guest, clicking to agree, or using MyTravelBuddy, you enter into this agreement with us. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information and is part of how the service works.

The service is provided from https://app.mytravelbuddy.ai and https://mcp.mytravelbuddy.ai, and from native apps that call the same APIs.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use MyTravelBuddy on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it to these terms.

3. Accounts, guests, and security

You can sign in with an email one-time code and, when enabled, Google or Facebook. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your email and linked providers secure.

Guest access is a limited preview. Guest chat is stored only after you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. We may cap guest messages, require a full account to continue, or disable guest mode.

Voice chat is available only to signed-in users with a verified email, on an existing saved thread—not for guests or empty draft chats.

4. The service

MyTravelBuddy helps you plan and live a trip with Buddy in the center and tools around it: Dream, itinerary, maps, weather, documents, photos, meals, expenses, gifts, journals, travelers, My Circle, Tracker, and related panels. Features may change, pause, or look different on web versus native clients. Offline caches on a device are a convenience; the hosted service remains the source of truth once you are back online.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit (messages, itineraries, photos, documents, meals, journals, contacts, traveler details, and similar). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate the service—including sending it to AI, storage, maps, and email providers, showing it to trip members you invite, and generating thumbnails, transcripts, summaries, and derived metadata.

You represent that:

• You have the rights to the content you upload, including photos of other people
• You have authority to enter information about traveling companions, including minors’ names and birth dates
• You will not upload malware, or content that is illegal, infringing, or that you do not have the right to share

Sensitive fields (passport numbers, medical notes, allergies, exact locations) are stored so the product can work. Treat trip invites, calendar feed URLs, and document links as confidential.

Trip visibility is described in the Privacy Policy. Chat with Buddy is per user, not a shared group transcript. Deleting your account deletes trips you created, including other members’ access to those trips.

6. Buddy and AI

Buddy is generative software. It can be wrong, outdated, or incomplete about visas, weather, prices, schedules, safety, health, and local rules. It is not a travel agent of record, lawyer, doctor, or financial adviser. You must verify bookings, documents, and important decisions yourself.

Plan → Book and similar handoffs open third-party sites. Unless we say otherwise, we do not confirm live availability or complete the vendor checkout. Confirmation details you paste back into MyTravelBuddy become your content.

Memory is optional. Turning it on lets Buddy extract and reuse facts you share across trips. You can review and delete memories. Memory never overrides trip permissions or these terms.

7. Location and Tracker

Location awareness and trip location sharing are opt-in. Awareness is latest-location-only for Buddy. Sharing writes a history that trip members and observers can see, and can trigger geofence emails you subscribe to. You can turn either control off at any time; already-saved samples, photos, and journal coordinates remain until you delete those items or the trip.

Tracker is a coordination tool for people on the same trip, not emergency services, child monitoring, or covert surveillance. Only enable sharing for people who have agreed to be located.

8. Payments

Paid plans, if offered, are billed through Stripe. Fees, taxes, and renewal terms are shown at checkout or in the Stripe customer portal (Settings → Billing). You authorize us and Stripe to charge the payment method on file for the selected plan until you cancel according to the portal.

Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. We may change prices with notice for the next renewal. Chargebacks or unpaid invoices may lead to suspension.

9. Third-party services and MCP

Maps, places, weather, images, airlines, hotels, and other partners are provided by third parties. Their terms and accuracy limits apply. Deep links may send trip details (dates, party size, destination) to those sites.

If you connect an MCP client or a Connect with MyTravelBuddy app, you authorize that client to use the scopes you approve (such as reading or writing trip itinerary data). You can revoke access in Settings → Authorized Apps. We are not responsible for how a connected client stores or uses data after you grant it.

Developers who register OAuth clients must follow the documentation at /developers, keep secrets confidential, and use tokens only for the approved purpose. We may revoke clients that abuse the API.

10. Acceptable use

You may use MyTravelBuddy only for lawful personal or internal business trip planning. You may not:

• Probe, disrupt, or overload the service, or bypass authentication or trip permissions
• Scrape the product, harvest other users’ data, or use it to build a competing dataset or model
• Misrepresent your identity, impersonate others, or send spam through invitations or email features
• Use location sharing, Tracker, or photos to harass or track someone without their agreement
• Upload others’ identity documents or payment cards except as needed for your own travel records
• Use Buddy to generate content you then present as professional legal, medical, or visa advice

11. Our intellectual property

The product, Buddy persona, prompts, software, and branding are owned by MyTravelBuddy or its licensors. These terms do not grant you a right to copy the service, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use our marks without permission. Feedback you send may be used without obligation to you.

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that Buddy, maps, weather, booking links, Tracker, or calendars will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that stored files cannot be lost. Travel involves risk you accept yourself.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyTravelBuddy and its suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, trips, bookings, or data, even if we were told they were possible.

Our total liability for claims arising out of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim or (b) fifty U.S. dollars. Some places do not allow these limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, create risk, or remain inactive. We may also discontinue features with reasonable notice when we can.

Sections that by their nature should survive (including your content license for residual copies, disclaimers, and liability limits) survive termination.

15. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update is acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service and delete your account.
